Dullstroom is a natural paradise and offers exceptional panoramas of mountains and wild flowers. This makes for a wide and varied birdlife in the area - good sightings of all three species of crane extant in South Africa are possible. There is also a bird of prey rehabilitation center with daily displays near the town which is well worth visiting. The surrounding area also offers an opportunity for entertaining day trips. The most famous Dullstroom attraction of all, however, is fishing. Dullstroom is renowned for its great trout streams and scenic fishing spots. Enthusiasts from across South Africa travel to this town to fish, the well-stocked rivers and dams teeming with Rainbow and Brown trout. A valid Mpumalanga Angling License is required to fish in the public dams - of which there are two.
