The Red Barn Dullstroom

Welcome to The Red Barn, a country wedding and function venue in the Dullstroom hills of Mpumalanga, also offering comfortable self-catering accommodation for families, friends and work retreats. With panoramic views across the Dullstroom countryside and accommodation overlooking trout dams, the property provides a private setting for groups of between 6 and 28 guests. The self-catering accommodation comprises The Stables, The Homestead and The Dairy Cottage, with each unit offering private bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, lounge area with fireplace and braai facilities. The Stables sleeps up to 12 adults and offers single beds or a combination of king-size and single beds. It is pet-friendly at an additional charge of R50 per dog per day. The Homestead sleeps up to eight adults across four bedrooms and can also be booked together with the Chicken Coop to accommodate an additional couple. Electric blankets are provided on the queen-size beds. The Dairy Cottage sleeps up to six guests and has recently been renovated. Located approximately 50 metres from Mampuru Dam, the cottage offers views across the farm and forests and is pet-friendly at an additional charge of R50 per dog per day. All three units are off the grid and hydro-powered, meaning guests do not experience load shedding. Kitchens are fully equipped, while linen and towels are provided. Guests should note that The Stables does not have a microwave, none of the units have coffee machines but plungers are provided, and hairdryers are not supplied. The Red Barn also caters for weddings, family celebrations and work retreats. The wedding and function hall accommodates up to 120 guests and has a fully functional kitchen, toilet facilities and two large open fireplaces. A small chapel is located just metres from the Barn, while each event can be tailored to suit the client's requirements and budget. The surrounding Dullstroom countryside provides opportunities for enjoying the outdoors, with the area particularly well known for its wetland birds and birds of prey. The property's setting overlooking trout dams and the surrounding hills also provides a comfortable base for guests wanting to spend time in the countryside.
