The reception barn can hold intimate weddings for 20 or more guests and larger celebrations up to 120 guests.
Venue Hire Includes:
-Wooden trestle tables.
-Wooden cross back chairs.
-Fairy lights.
-Basic white.
-Crockery and stainless steel cutlery.
-White linen.
-Napkins.
-Wine & champagne glasses for each place setting.
Ceremony:
-The forest chapel, set over a dam wall and tucked in an established poplar grove.
-The little white stone chapel, suitable for weddings of 50 or fewer guests.
-In the barn gardens under a large stretch tent - a weather contingency for all sized wedding ceremonies.
Food & Beverage:
Bar:
You can choose between a fully customized cash bar or to bring in your own drinks. If they run a cash bar for
your big day, they will be in touch prior to the date to make sure that they stock the bar appropriately for your
guests wishes. They can also supply table wines of your choice or you are welcome to bring these in yourself at
an additional nominal corkage fee. They don’t charge corkage on sparkling wines. Should you be stocking your
own drinks they can supply barmen ice and glasses for the bar at a fee. They have also noticed a growing trend in
BYOB weddings and this is something that they are also happy to facilitate.
Menu Options:
-They cater a standard menu with options for vegetarians.
-Choose between their canape menu or harvest table set up in the gardens to welcome your guests to the reception.
-Their Farmers Feast dinner menu consists of a starter (chosen by the happy couple), main course which has lamb done on the spit, souvla chicken and side options, and dessert (an assortment of finger sized sweet treats).
-Should you prefer you are welcome to organize your own caterers for the wedding day.
-They often supply the main course and the wedding party provide the welcome table and desserts.
-They are flexible with the food and happy to discuss options.
Additional Information:
Accommodation:
They can accommodate a total of 28 guests on their farm in 3 different guest houses, this includes the Chicken Coop, the honeymoon suite which is located just off The Homestead. Booking their venue for your special day automatically includes all accommodation on the farm for 2 nights. Extra nights can be booked at a per person rate.
There is plenty of other accommodation available within a 5km radius of the farm and shuttles can also be booked to and from Dullstroom itself.
Loadshedding:
The Red Barn is completely off the grid and therefore don’t get load shedding.
They have a solar system with a large backup diesel generator.
Please contact them to discuss any particular power needs for your special day as it is important not to overload the system.
Alternate power sources have been arranged by couples who want to bring in extra décor lighting or things like ice-cream machines.
Stretch Tent:
Their Bedouin tent is available as an optional extra to use in the welcome gardens for shade and also in case of rain. It is also the back up option should weather not allow a couple to have their ceremony in the forest chapel.
