Amberley Mountain Reserve

Welcome to Amberley Mountain Reserve, a private mountain retreat near Dullstroom offering expansive valley views, trout fishing and plenty of space for families and groups. The lodge accommodates up to 12 guests across six bedrooms, with four en-suite bathrooms and two shared bathrooms, making it well suited to larger groups looking for a comfortable countryside stay. The lodge features spacious living areas, including a main lounge with an open fireplace and a second TV lounge with DStv and a double wood burner. The dining room opens onto a covered patio with braai facilities, while the well-equipped kitchen and scullery provide everything needed for a self-catering stay. Outside, guests can enjoy a swimming pool and an outdoor dining area overlooking the surrounding landscape. The reserve offers four well-stocked trout dams and a large private nature reserve where guests can see Plains game including Black Wildebeest, Zebra and Springbok. The property is also suited to hiking and cycling, with a long winding concrete road providing easy access by car. Free Wi-Fi is available, with strong Vodacom and MTN cellphone reception, while electric blankets and wall-panel heaters are provided in the bedrooms for colder nights. Guests can choose between standard and deluxe service. Standard service includes dishwashing and cleaning fireplaces, while the optional deluxe service includes assistance with setting tables, lighting fires, additional cleaning and meal preparation. Deluxe service must be arranged before arrival. Amberley Mountain Reserve is also pet-friendly, although pets must be supervised. Smoking is not permitted inside the lodge but is allowed on the outdoor patio. Firearms, pellet guns, crossbows and hunting are not permitted on the property. Located approximately 5 km from the Dullstroom Bird of Prey & Rehabilitation Centre, the reserve also provides a convenient base for exploring attractions in the surrounding area. Amberley Lodge is accessed on a private concrete road only 1 km from Dullstroom. The road ambles through private farmland for 6km's after which one enters the Mountain Reserve. Enjoy the spectacular views and animal sightings as you drive for about 3km's to the lodge

Dullstroom village is a well-known country town popular with tourists. It offers many award-winning restaurants, art galleries, pubs, bespoke deli, and antique shops. Located at over 2100m ASL, Dullstroom is a popular trail running and Mountain biking area. Although Amberley offers exceptional natural splendor to take your bike or running shoes, there is a Park Run at the Dullstroom Nature Reserve every Saturday morning as well as a large network of MTB trails. Should you wish to play golf, be sure to book your tee-off time in advance for the Ernie Els designed Highland Gate Golf & Trout Estate. This course is rated one of the best in South Africa.
