Blue Crane Farm is an outstanding fly-fishing destination featuring two meticulously maintained and well-stocked trout dams. Our larger dam covers an impressive 9 hectares and includes several jetties, enhancing your fly-fishing experience.
This enchanting venue showcases stunning natural scenery with free-roaming game species such as fallow deer, springbok, blesbuck, zebra, hartebeest, and vaal rhebok. The birdlife is remarkable, hosting several endangered species, including the Blue Crane and Crowned Cranes, which nest on the farm regularly.
The accommodation on the farm consists of eight well-appointed self-catering units, ranging from a cozy 2-sleeper cottage to larger 8-sleeper houses. In total, Blue Crane Farm can accommodate 44 guests, making it an ideal venue for both small and large group bookings.
While each unit offers privacy, they are easily accessible, allowing guests to visit family or friends in neighboring units. All units face the waterfront, providing stunning views of the surrounding grasslands.
Blue Crane Farm is located about a 10-minute drive from the charming village of Dullstroom and is easily accessible from the main road between Belfast and Dullstroom.
This popular tourist destination offers numerous excellent restaurants, shops, a craft beer brewery, as well as whiskey, wine, and gin tasting experiences, along with cozy pubs.
Nearby attractions include golfing at the renowned Ernie Els-designed Highland Gate Golf & Trout Estate, which is approximately a 25-minute drive via the scenic Kruisfontein Road. Other activities in the area include visiting the Bird of Prey Center, mountain biking, and horse riding.
