TALBOT TROUT FARM is a much loved, owner-run farm, where we aim for life quality, bliss, organic and eco-friendly sustainable farming and we love sharing this with our guests.
Our canvas is 810 ha of pristine nature with spectacular views, rolling hills and hidden valleys.
TALBOT TROUT FARM boasts nine trout dams, which are stocked regularly, and is home to an incredible variety of fauna and flora, making it an ideal location for birders and nature lovers.
Resident species include; blesbok, rhebuck, zebra, ostrich, otters, African fish eagles and a variety of water and grassland birds – let’s not forget our farm animals, donkeys, ponies, cows and feathered friends.
We pride ourselves in our environmentally friendly policies. Cottages are supplied with mineral water from our own springs and our cottages are powered by solar panels.
Located in the South African province of Mpumalanga, Dullstroom is a small town well known for being the country's premier fly fishing region. It's a mere two-hour drive from Johannesburg and Pretoria, making it the ideal stop for that en-route to the Kruger National Park.
The farm lends itself to fishing, birding, walking, mountain-biking and just plain relaxing. We are well known for our still water trout fishing and practice catch and release. Whilst the trout do breed in all of the dams a comprehensive stocking program is employed which ensures good catches throughout the year.
